Beit Midrash (Religious School)

Welcome to Beit Midrash!

Beit Midrash literally means “house of learning” and is the name of the youth education program here at Beit Am. At Beit Midrash, we strive to provide a source of Jewish identity and Jewish cultural literacy to the children within our membership. Our school-wide curriculum includes: Torah, ritual practice (avodah), Jewish values (derekh eretz), and Jewish history.

Beit Midrash meets most Sunday mornings from October through May and classes are for students in preschool through 7/8th Grade with small-group Hebrew classes beginning in grade 3.

Family Engagement

We encourage families to stay and see what children are learning! Current opportunities for family engagement include: joining us during morning Tefillah and closing circle, participating in Mitzvah Days, and volunteering.

Additional opportunities for family engagement are announced throughout the year.

Registration

Registration opens for the Beit Midrash school year by the first week in September (depending on when High Holidays fall, registration may be earlier or later).

The online registration form can be found under "Registration" on the Beit Midrash drop-down menu. You may print it out if you prefer and return the form either by mailing to Beit Am, 4318 NW Circle Blvd., Corvallis, OR 97330, handing to our office administrator during office hours, or you may put the forms under the office door if the office is closed and you have building access.

Students must be members of Beit Am to enroll in Beit Midrash, however, families may choose to visit for 1-2 classes before enrolling. Membership forms can be filled out online under the "Member Info" dropdown menu option.

Payment can be made by check or on the Beit Midrash registration webpage using the "Donate" button. This is not considered a donation for tax purposes and will instead be applied to tuition; we just can't change what the button says.

Financial considerations should never be a barrier to participation in Beit Midrash education. If you need a tuition reduction or waiver, please contact the Beit Am Administrator at office@beitam.org.

For any additional questions, please contact Beit Midrash Director Ellie Larison at beitmidrash@beitam.org or 541-250-9281, or you can contact our office administrator by email at office@beitam.org or by phone at 541-753-0067.

Parents/Guardians, the Beit Midrash class schedule appears on the Beit Am online calendar for members only. Please login to view or contact the Web Maven at webmaven@beitam.org if you need login credentials.
