Mid-Willamette Valley Jewish Community
Learner's Shabbat will be an opportunity to learn about how to pray as a Jew in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. This will be neither a formal service nor a classroom. Rather, Rabbi Phil will guide learners through the Shabbat liturgy, paying special attention to the structure and narrative arc of the service, with plenty of room for interactivity, question asking, and pauses for explanation. We'll rehearse the habits of body and mind that support an enriching prayer experience so that you'll be better to prepared to join any of Beit Am's Shabbat service offerings "for real."
Every Jew deserves to feel like an owner of their sacred traditions. Join an upcoming Learner's Shabbat and take the next step toward a fulfilling spiritual life!
