Mid-Willamette Valley Jewish Community
- Antisemitism has been called “the longest hatred.” This program will trace its existence across more than two millennia, considering such issues as: which accusations, myths and stereotypes regarding the Jewish people have presented the greatest danger? what appears to moderate or to exacerbate antisemitism? and as we face yet another surge in the prejudice, what strategies may serve to combat it?
- Paul Kopperman, a Professor Emeritus of History at OSU, will be providing the lectures. Paul has been a member of Beit Am since shortly after he arrived in Corvallis in the fall of 1978. In 1982, he introduced “The Holocaust in Its History” (History 425), a baccalaureate-core course that placed the Holocaust into the broad history of antisemitism.
